Poverty: the outcomes for children. Edited by Professor Jonathan Bradshaw

Published by FSPC in April 2000; it is distributed by, and can be bought from, the National Children's Bureau.

Concentrating on British data from the last twenty years, this report reviews the evidence on the impact of poverty on the outcomes for children. It asks:
  • what does the evidence tell us about the impact of poverty on children?
  • are worse outcomes always associated with poverty?
  • how do poor children compare with those who are not poor?
It also includes a comparative analysis of how other countries monitor the well-being of their children.
