The Family Policy Studies Centre, the UK's leading independent centre for research, policy analysis and information on families, closed at the end of April 2001 after 23 years of existence. Its authoritative, yet accessible, publications covered a range of topics on social policy and family life.

I was able to purchase much of the Centre's stock of publications following the Centre's closure. These publications include Briefing Papers and the Centre's quarterly bulletin, Family Policy, are now offered for sale at heavily discounted prices (out-of-print titles are also available for download): I am concerned principally to try to ensure that the Centre's publications reach students, academics, practitioners and others working with and for families, rather than get thrown away. Prices are inclusive of postage and handling charges (for UK orders only; postage costs payable for customers outside the UK).

You can:

  • purchase individual titles
  • make a bulk purchase of any individual title (rates available on request)
  • help us by passing on the publications list to others you think may be interested.

To order, please use this form.

Titles in the two series FPSC published for the Joseph Rowntree Foundation - on Family & Parenthood Policy & Practice, and Family and Work - can be purchased through the Joseph Rowntree Foundation.

Poverty: the outcomes for children, edited by Jonathan Bradshaw, and published by the Centre in April 2001, is distributed by the National Children's Bureau and can be ordered from their website.

I hope you find something of interest.
